Spring is beginning to emerge here, and it was a beautiful week to have vacation from school. The beginning of the week we enjoyed a chance to spend time outdoors painting, playing "tennis" (learning about the lines and practicing hitting the ball and getting it to go forward), and having a St. Patrick's day party with some friends. With Thursday came a trip to the surgery center for D. to get his adenoids removed and tubes into his ears. Friday we enjoyed a trip to the library, and Saturday we took a trip to St. Louis for a temple trip where the Jonathan and the children enjoyed some good time at the park and walking the trails while I did some temple work. The children have also enjoyed some good reading time and J. has enjoyed doing, showing, and teaching origami to any willing participants.
The surgery seems to have gone well, and he has recuperated quickly. That afternoon, he was back up and running around shortly after returning home. He has mentioned things being loud, so it sounds like it was successful. :-) (We go back in a month for a follow up visit.)
The St. Patrick's Day party was some good fun with friends. The kids made shamrocks, ate green jello and fruits, and Reuben (corned beef) sandwiches, stomped down gopher holes, had 'sword' fights, tire races, and knight races, along with the more general outside playtime fun.
It has been wonderful to have good outside weather to enjoy, and to be able to enjoy the birds singing and flowers blooming that have come with it. ...Now if only we could eliminate allergies we'd have it made! :-)

What wonderful festivities!! It sounds like you guys had a great St. Paddy's Day!! I love all the cute races and games!
I'm glad that D is recovering well from the surgery. He's a trooper!
What fun it sounds like you've had! The tennis practice sound like a hit. The sword fighting looks like grand fun...especially with the green helmets. So glad that D is recovering so nicely! I'll have to call you and get more details. Love each of you!
